Filler Dissolving Procedure

What is filler dissolving procedure?

When and why is the filler dissolving procedure with hyaluronidase performed?

The filler dissolving procedure, performed using the hyaluronidase enzyme, is used to reverse the unwanted or excessive effects of filler applications. This procedure is only applicable to fillers containing hyaluronic acid!

Indications for filler dissolving:

Unwanted Filler Appearance:

Over-injection of filler causing an undesirable appearance.
Injection of filler into the wrong area, leading to asymmetries.
Lumping or uneven appearance of the filler over time.

Allergic Reaction:

In rare cases, allergic reactions to fillers may occur, resulting in symptoms such as redness, swelling, itching, or, in rare instances, anaphylaxis. In such cases, the filler needs to be dissolved quickly.

Corrective Procedure:

Used to correct previous filler applications. For example, a doctor may want to adjust the amount or placement of the filler.

Emergencies:

In cases where filler is accidentally injected into a blood vessel or causes vascular compression, leading to impaired circulation, hyaluronidase injection must be administered immediately.
